Lunky

First appeared in "LIXIAN IS GONE. LUNKY IS HERE." on Markiplier's channel.

A stick figure character created by Markiplier as a crude, joking replacement for his editor Lixian while he was on vacation. Lunky is comprised of two squares for head and torso, with straight lines for limbs. He makes abrupt jump-cut appearances with disturbing sound effects. After being "killed" by Lixian in a later video, Lunky was resurrected with white eyes and a stitched-together body — becoming the terrifying antagonist that inspired Project Lunky.

Wilford Warfstache

Debuted in "The Fall of Slender Man" (2012) as a flamboyant news reporter.

One of Markiplier's most iconic alter-ego characters, known for his signature pink mustache. Originally called "The Colonel," Warfstache was a childhood friend of Damien and Mark in the "Who Killed Markiplier?" storyline. He hosts WARFSTACHE Tonight! and is generally chaotic but lovable. In Project Lunky, the Warfstache Shop is the in-game upgrade store where you spend coins on health, damage, and speed boosts.

Tiny Box Tim

From Markiplier's playthrough of Amnesia custom story "A Late Night Drink."

A small wooden crate that Mark found and immediately fell in love with, giving it a name and personality. Tim became a beloved mascot of the Markiplier community and has appeared in fan games, animations, and merchandise. In Project Lunky, Tiny Box Tim appears as a hidden Easter egg in certain lab rooms — finding all Tim locations may contribute to 100% completion.

Lixian (The Developer)

Luís Costa, Portuguese animator and Markiplier's editor since 2018.

Beyond editing Markiplier's videos, Lixian is a talented game developer who created "Do It For Me" (a sidescroller horror platformer) and now Project Lunky. In the game, "Evil Lixian" is the force that teleports you into the lab — a meta-joke on his role as the puppet master behind Markiplier's content. Lixian's animations and editing style heavily influence the game's visual identity.

A mysterious medical facility where the game begins. Lixian shoves the player into this location during the intro cutscene. The Mospital is filled with advertisement posters containing hidden messages, MCU references, and the In Space crystal from Markiplier's YouTube Original series "In Space with Markiplier." Skipping the Mospital cutscene triggers the infamous map-fall glitch.

Darkiplier

Evolved from early Markiplier videos into a major character in "Who Killed Markiplier?"

Darkiplier is an entity formed from the fusion of Damien, Celine, and the evil entity inhabiting Markiplier Manor. Characterized by a monochrome suit, dark aura, and visual distortions. While not a direct character in Project Lunky, Darkiplier's signature visual glitches and distortion effects appear in certain lab rooms — subtle nods that fans of the MCU will recognize.
